AUSTIN, Texas — Czech racer Filip Salac was taken by helicopter to a hospital after crashing exhausting early within the Moto3 race in on the MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas.
Race officers on the Circuit of the Americas mentioned the 19-year-old was acutely aware after the crash and was taken to the hospital for scans of his chest and stomach.
Salac was in a gaggle of riders accelerating out of a hairpin flip when he flipped off his bike and landed on his head and shoulders and bounced. He was rapidly positioned on a stretcher and brought to the observe’s medical middle. He was airlifted to the hospital about half-hour later.
The race was lower quick after one other exhausting crash involving three riders stopped the race for a second time.
MotoGP rider Maverick Vinales didn’t race this weekend, sitting out after the loss of life of his cousin, Dean Berta Vinales, at a race final week in Spain.
