INDIANAPOLIS — Dale Coyne Racing and Vasser Sullivan Racing introduced Friday they may finish their IndyCar Collection partnership.
The 2 groups had labored collectively for the previous 4 seasons.
Coyne’s staff issued a press release acknowledging Vasser Sullivan wished to deal with its sports activities automobile entries, although the Vasser Sullivan staff stated it nonetheless hopes to compete on North America’s prime open-wheel circuit.
“We have had a terrific and profitable time with our companions at Vasser Sullivan Racing and we admire every thing Jimmy and Sulli have finished and delivered to the staff and our No. 18 entry,” Coyne’s staff stated. “We perceive that they wish to deal with their sports activities automobile endeavors, and we want them continued success with their manufacturing unit Lexus deal and the most effective of luck of their future tasks.”
The announcement comes someday after Coyne confirmed the staff had employed two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Takuma Sato. The Japanese driver shall be competing below Coyne’s partnership with Rick Ware Racing.
There may be hypothesis Coyne will enter a brand new partnership to run a second automobile this season, simply not with Vasser Sullivan.
“Vasser Sullivan Racing desires to thank Dale for his partnership over the past 4 seasons,” the staff stated. “We reaffirm our need to compete within the NTT IndyCar Collection [and] want Dale and the Dale Coyne Racing staff the most effective.”
