MIAMI — McLaren has had talks with Audi however shouldn’t be on the market, staff boss Zak Brown stated on Friday in response to Volkswagen Group’s announcement that its Audi and Porsche manufacturers can be coming into System One.
A supply informed Reuters in March that Audi was prepared to supply round 500 million euros ($527.55 million) for McLaren as a way to enter.
Germany’s Supervisor Magazin reported on Thursday that talks with McLaren have been near failing after months of negotiations.
Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, informed reporters on the inaugural Miami Grand Prix that there was no query of any change of possession.
“Our shareholders are very dedicated to McLaren. We did have conversations with Audi and we’re not on the market,” Brown stated.
“Commercially we’re doing very well. Morale within the staff is actually good. We don’t have any curiosity in promoting the racing staff.
“We cannot take into account a buy-out of McLaren,” he stated.
