German union demands 8% wage hike for VW workers

BERLIN — Germany’s IG Metall is demanding an 8 p.c wage hike for Volkswagen Group employees amid spiking inflation, the union mentioned.

“Inflation is destroying wealth, hitting incomes and placing many households in financial difficulties,” IG Metall negotiator Thorsten Groeger mentioned on Wednesday, including that inflation was a “brutal actuality.”
