German car sales rise 3% in August to end six months of declines

German automotive gross sales rose 3 % in August regardless of ongoing manufacturing challenges on account of a scarcity of parts reminiscent of semiconductors.

Registrations for the month had been 199,183, information from the KBA motor transport authority confirmed on Monday.

German premium manufacturers had a combined month, with Mercedes-Benz up 31 %; Audi up 22 %, however BMW down 1.3 %.

VW model, the German market chief, noticed registrations rise 5 %, whereas Ford was up 13 % and Opel’s quantity grew 1.3 %.
