Chevrolet Silverado EV RST First Edition reservation holders are in for some good news as the company has revealed the truck is more powerful than originally estimated.
When the pickup was introduced in January, Chevrolet expected its dual-motor all-wheel drive system would produce 664 hp (495 kW / 673 PS) and 780+ lb-ft (1,056+ Nm) of torque. However, with the passage of time, those numbers have now been revised.
In a statement to CarScoops, the senior manager of Chevrolet Trucks Communications, Sean Szymkowski, said “As we prepare for production of the Silverado EV, our engineering team has further refined the estimated performance specs for the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST First Edition. GM now estimates horsepower to be up to 754 (562 kW / 764 PS) and torque up to … 785 lb-ft (1,063 Nm) when Wide Open Watts mode is engaged.”

If those numbers sound familiar, they should as they’re the same figures as the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1. Both models are also slated to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in less than 4.5 seconds and have a range of approximately 400 miles (644 km).
Despite offering identical performance, the Silverado EV RST First Edition has a slight edge on pricing as it starts at $105,000 before destination charges. That’s $2,000 less than the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1.
That isn’t the only feather in Chevy’s cap as the Silverado EV RST First Edition will arrive in the fall of 2023. This gives customers a head start on the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1, which won’t arrive until early 2024.
