Stellantis has partnered with Norwegian startup Casi to launch a automotive subscription service referred to as Drivenjoy, initially within the Netherlands.

The service will provide about 200 autos within the coming months.

The Drivenjoy fleet will not be completely electrical, though extra hybrid and full-electric autos shall be added within the coming months.

Stellantis is touting the partnership as a “main step ahead” in the way in which the automaker distributes automobiles and connects with clients.

Drivenjoy is providing three manufacturers: Peugeot, Citroen, and DS. Beginning January, Casi, previously referred to as imove, hopes so as to add extra Stellantis manufacturers to the fleet to supply a multi-brand service.

“We see that automotive subscription shall be an enormous a part of the automotive trade sooner or later, and we’re decided now could be the fitting time for us to play a task in how this section evolves,” mentioned Sophieke Verhoeven, head of PSA finance at Stellantis.

Verhoveven mentioned Stellantis views automotive subscription as a complementary service to its conventional enterprise.

“It is a means for us to succeed in new buyer segments and enhance new buyer deliveries whereas implementing a brand new income stream,” she mentioned.

Casi goals to assist automakers. sellers, fleet operators, and different companies to launch and scale automotive subscription companies.

The corporate has designed an all-in-one automotive subscription platform providing multi-channel distribution, subscription administration, and a choice of operational companies and ecosystem companions.

Stellantis has been steadily rising its subscription footprint within the U.S. with its Free2move model, which launched in Europe in 2016 earlier than debuting in Washington, D.C., in 2018.

The service has since expanded to cities comparable to Austin, Columbus, Portland, and Denver.
