Normal Motors stated on Tuesday its Silao Meeting Plant in Mexico that makes Chevrolet and GMC pickup vehicles will lengthen a manufacturing halt by March 20 due to an undisclosed short-term provide chain problem.
The most important U.S. automaker beforehand introduced it was halting manufacturing from March 4-12 at its central Mexico plant due to a provide chain problem. The automaker stated is working with suppliers to resolve the availability chain problem and plans to renew manufacturing subsequent week.
GM declined to say what the problem was however stated it was not associated to semiconductor chips.
GM Chief Monetary Officer Paul Jacobson stated in January the automaker continued “to face some provide chain and logistics points, however general, issues stay trending in the best path.”
