Martinrea Worldwide Inc., is backing away from an early-stage enterprise aimed toward growing graphene-enhanced lithium ion battery cells for electrical automobiles.
The Canadian components provider and its associate NanoXplore Inc., introduced March 27 that the Montreal-based graphene firm has agree to purchase Martinrea’s 50-per-cent stake in VoltaXplore Inc.
The $10 million buy offers NanoXplore full management over the battery three way partnership, which was fashioned in April 2021 to commercialize graphene-enhanced batteries, and had acquired $5 million in funding from Martinrea.
