Toyota recalls 96,000 Corolla Cross crossovers for airbags that might not deploy

WASHINGTON — Toyota Motor North America on Tuesday stated it’s recalling about 96,000 Corolla Cross crossovers within the U.S. as a result of the entrance passenger airbag may not deploy, rising the danger of harm in a crash.

The recall covers non-hybrid fashions from 2022 to 2023.

The automaker recommends nobody sit within the entrance passenger seat till the automobile is inspected and a restore is accomplished.

The entrance passenger airbags within the affected automobiles may not deploy as designed due to a producing error within the instrument panel, Toyota stated in an announcement. In consequence, the automobiles may not meet federal security requirements.

A Toyota spokesperson declined to touch upon whether or not there have been any accidents, accidents or deaths associated to the problem.

Sellers will examine the automobiles and, if essential, exchange the instrument panel without charge.

Automobile house owners will likely be notified by late July, Toyota stated.
