Energy administration big Eaton Corp. plans to open a brand new electrification analysis lab in Michigan and create 100 EV-focused jobs at a number of websites in Michigan.

The corporate, domiciled in Eire with a North American base in Beachwood, Ohio, is trying to make investments $22.5 million to broaden its plant in Calhoun County’s Eckford Township and improve its headcount within the Detroit suburbs of Southfield and Canton Township, based on an announcement this week from Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and a briefing memo from the Michigan Financial Growth Corp.

The roles shall be a mixture of newly created positions and current workers transitioned to EV jobs, the memo mentioned. They’ll pay $47.41 per hour plus advantages.

The MEDC is supporting the mission with a $600,000 performance-based grant that may help with job coaching.
