Mitsui High-tec investing $100 million to expand EV parts plant in Ontario

BRANTFORD, Ont. — Ontario Premier Doug Ford says Mitsui Excessive-tec is investing greater than $100 million to increase manufacturing operations in southwestern Ontario that produce a element wanted for electrical automobiles.

Ford says the funding into the plant in Branftord, Ont., will likely be used to fabricate motor cores, a bit used to make the motor that powers electrical automobiles.

Mitsui Excessive-tec largest prospects are Honda, Toyota and Nissan.

Ford says the corporate will open a brand new facility and create greater than 100 jobs.

The province says Mitsui is the one firm in Canada that creates motor core elements for electrical and hybrid automobiles.

Ford says the province is investing $3.1 million for the growth.

The funding is the most recent within the province’s push to grow to be a frontrunner in electrical automobile manufacturing.

Mitsui Excessive-tec opened its first Canadian manufacturing unit in April 2017, with plans of growth. The preliminary plant in Brantford price $38 million.
