BlackBerry Ltd. says a few of its software program and companies have been chosen to be used in a Foxconn-backed electrical automobile consortium.
The Waterloo, Ont.-based software program firm says the Mobility in Concord consortium will use its QNX and Ivy choices to construct the platform.
QNX is a cloud- and synthetic intelligence-based software program basis whereas Ivy is an in-vehicle software program platform serving to automakers monetize information.
Software program big Microsoft, South Korean battery maker LG Vitality Answer and luxurious electrical automobile producer Karma Automotive are among the many hundreds of consortium members.
The consortium is engaged on constructing a single-row, three-seat automobile geared towards Asian shoppers that it calls Challenge X.
