Myles Rowe is one step nearer to becoming a member of the IndyCar Sequence.

Rowe, who turned the primary Black driver to win an open-wheel championship in a North American collection when he clinched the USF Professional 2000 title Saturday, will be a part of HMD Motorsports within the Indy NXT collection in 2024, the workforce introduced Wednesday.

“I am tremendous excited to announce my subsequent step to HMD Motorsports with Drive Indy and be a part of their household,” Rowe mentioned in a press release. “I’m extraordinarily excited to develop and progress with them as a workforce and struggle for a lot of extra race wins.”

Rowe, 23, is supported by Penske Leisure’s Race for Equality & Change initiative, which was launched in 2020 to offer alternatives within the IndyCar Sequence and its ladder system.

He has 5 wins and 9 podium finishes in his first 12 months in USF Professional 2000.
