2025 Lincoln Navigator thinks you need to calm down

  • For 2025, the Lincoln Navigator wants you to feel at peace
  • That peace still comes with a 440-hp twin-turbo V-6, and standard 4WD
  • It also includes a 48-inch wide-screen display and 28-speaker Revel audio
  • Prices haven’t been confirmed

Lincoln has stuffed its 2025 Navigator luxury SUV with a new interior and draped it with new front- and rear-end styling that channels some of its midsize siblings, such as the latest Lincoln Nautilus and 2025 Aviator SUVs.

The luxury arm of Ford revealed the new vehicle at Monterey Car Week and online late on August 15th.

The Navigator still rides on a full-size truck frame and is still a cousin of the Ford Expedition and F-150, but it’s been substantially revamped for an even more luxurious driving experience. Offered in Reserve and Black Label trims, it’s still a rival for cars like the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, the GMC Yukon, and of course, the Cadillac Escalade.

What’s new for the 2025 Lincoln Navigator?

This year’s 2025 Navigator gets a new front and rear end look that’s closer to that of the Aviator and Nautilus. There’s a chain mesh style grille that’s strapped down across the front with LED lighting, studded by a Lincoln logo. The light band draws across the body and tapers into a metallic trim piece that arrows toward its rear. That’s where another band of LED lighting bends down toward and around the taillights for a subtler look.

But it’s inside where the Navigator really ups the luxury ante. Lincoln fits a 48-inch display across the dash of the Navigator. A secondary touchscreen and a set of piano-key style transmission controls flank a squared-off steering wheel. Lincoln says the control knob on the console is inspired by crystal, even if it’s not the real thing.

Seating for the front passengers starts with 24-way power adjustment for the driver and 22-way power adjustment for the front passenger, both of them with cooling and heating and massaging. The Navigator L offers about a foot more overall length, and that lifts cargo space, but it doesn’t make a difference for the people sitting in the second-row bench seats, which can be swapped out for captain’s chairs, or for third-row seating comfort.

Lincoln’s added two new Black Label models to its lineup this year. The blue-gray hues of the Atmospheric theme contrast with the beige and gray of its new Enlighten theme. The former gets 24-inch copper wheels, 30-way power front seats, leather upholstery, wireless smartphone charging for the second row, heated and cooled captain’s chairs for the second row too, and heating for the third-row seat.

In its new Rejuvenate mode, the Navigator will slide the driver seat back, start a massage function, warm the seat, and do so for 5 or 10 minutes while the screens flip into screensaver mode, and while the car begins to emit its own fragrance—all while 28 speakers of Revel audio play in the back. The screens display patterns inspired by the elements (earth, wind, fire, and okay, water), or the aurora borealis, or a waterfall.

What else is new for the 2025 Lincoln Navigator?

Lincoln hasn’t changed the Navigator’s drivetrain this year, despite the desperate need for hybrid systems to boost its low fuel economy. (No surprise, since nearly a third of its dealers said no thanks to a pure-EV sales model.) Still putting out 440 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque, the Navigator’s twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 couples to a 10-speed automatic with standard four-wheel drive.

Maximum towing capacity is still 8,700 pounds. The Navigator’s 22-inch wheels transmit road surfaces through a standard adaptive suspension, but Lincoln now offers 24-inch wheels.

Ford’s BlueCruise driver-assist system takes over some controls while on the highway. It’s standard this year on the Navigator, along with lane-change assistance. BlueCruise covers more than 130,000 miles of highways in the U.S. and Canada. After the first four years of free service, Lincoln reverts BlueCruise to a subscription model.

Standard features include blind-spot monitors, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, automatic park assist, and active lane control. The Navigator also has trailer backup assistance and hitch assistance, all knitted together through its network of cameras and sensors.

How much does the 2025 Lincoln Navigator cost?

No prices have been announced yet for the 2025 Lincoln Navigator, but it’s likely the base price will rise to about $90,000.

Standard equipment includes an 11.1-inch touchscreen that pairs with the 48-inch display to run Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly. The system can also be used with voice commands, which can also be updated to display videos or gaming while the Navigator is parked. Google Maps navigation and 5G service will be included for free for four years when those too will be reverted to a subscription model.

We’ll have more on final prices and more on driving the new Navigator later this year.
