Ford’s Bronco Raptor SUV and Ranger Raptor pickup wow off road, but the vehicles’ performance on streets and in a straight line can be less satisfying. With either vehicle, you’re looking at a 0-60 mph time in around six seconds.
There’s a solution, and you can find it at your local Ford dealership. The automaker on Thursday announced a performance upgrade for both vehicles, priced from $825.
The upgrade consists of a new software calibration for the vehicles’ twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6, and it takes the peak output to 455 hp and 536 lb-ft of torque.
That’s a big jump compared to the standard ratings of 418 hp and 440 lb-ft for the Bronco Raptor and 405 hp and 430 lb-ft for the Ranger Raptor.

Impressively, the upgrade makes the midsize performance duo more potent than the full-size F-150 Raptor, whose twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 is rated at 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque.
Other gains include improved throttle response and an optimized shift program for the 10-speed automatic transmission.
The upgrade is available for Bronco Raptors from the 2023 and 2024 model years, and Ranger Raptors from the 2024 model year.
Ford said a 20% discount is available for the upgrade and other items from the Ford Performance Parts catalog for anyone who registers their vehicle and attends Ford’s one-day Raptor Rally course. The course costs $500 and takes place on Sept. 21 at the Ford Performance Racing School in Fairfield, Utah.
