Ford makes car customization easy with Custom Garage program

  • Ford launches Custom Garage personalization program
  • Program groups popular upgrades in easy-to-order packages
  • Packages include styling and performance upgrades

Ford will use the 2024 SEMA show on next week in Las Vegas to launch Ford Custom Garage, a program designed to make it easy to add upgrades to a new Ford truck or SUV.

The program groups various upgrades into packages that can be ordered with a single part number at the time of vehicle purchase. The upgrades can span everything from wheel designs to graphics packages, suspension upgrades, and powertrain tunes.

All of the packages maintain Ford’s new vehicle warranty, and vehicles can still be serviced at any Ford dealership, including those vehicles that feature performance upgrades.

Some of the packages will be offered for a limited time only, which might make some of the vehicles fitted with them become collectible over time. Ford said it wants to keep the packages fresh and ensure that there aren’t too many vehicles with the same specification.

The first two packages are already available to order and include Matte Black and Sinister Bronze packages. They’re designed for the Bronco and include a 2.0-inch suspension lift kit, unique 17-inch wheels with black lug nuts, unique badge detailing (depending on the package), extended fender flares, an updated spare tire carrier, and a Ford Performance Parts Calibration Tool.

Each package is priced at $5,200, though adding the 35-inch Goodyear all-terrain tires shown here costs extra.

Ford said more packages are coming soon, including for other vehicles. These will include a Dark Trail Series package for the Bronco, a Blue Free Wheeling package for the Bronco Sport, and a FP700S package for the F-150.

The FP700S package will turn the F-150 into a proper street truck thanks to a Ford Performance supercharger upgrade for the F-150’s 5.0-liter V-8. The supercharger helps lift output to 700 hp. The package will be previewed at the SEMA show with a FP700S F-150 concept truck. The action gets underway Nov. 4.
