PARIS — Stellantis is extending manufacturing halts at crops in Europe as a consequence of a scarcity of microchips.
Output will keep halted this week at PSA’s Rennes plant in France and Fiat’s SevelSud mild business van plant in Italy, a Stellantis spokesperson mentioned on Monday.
The Rennes manufacturing unit, which builds Peugeot and Citroen midsize automobiles, suffered manufacturing halts final week, together with PSA’s Sochaux manufacturing unit in France and Opel’s Eisenach plant in Germany. Sochaux builds compact fashions, whereas Eisenach produces crossovers for Opel.
One of many manufacturing traces on the Sochaux plant had not restarted as of Monday, whereas the Eisenach plant is not going to produce on Monday and Tuesday, the spokesperson mentioned.
