Volvo resumes limited production at China plant

STOCKHOLM – Volvo has resumed restricted manufacturing at its auto plant within the Chinese language metropolis of Chengdu.

The automaker had quickly closed the plant on Sept. 1 as a consequence of native coronavirus restrictions. 

“Volvo Vehicles is now working a single day by day shift on the (Chengdu) plant and can proceed to guage the state of affairs on an ongoing foundation,” a Volvo Vehicles spokesperson stated.

The plant builds the S60L and XC60 fashions.

The spokesperson stated the corporate’s plant in Daqing remained quickly closed as a result of lockdown within the metropolis.

On Sept. 1, Chengdu introduced a lockdown of its 21.2 million residents, essentially the most populous metropolis to be locked down since Shanghai earlier this yr.
