Lincoln is close to revealing a redesigned Navigator, and the automaker on Tuesday provided a preview in the form of a teaser video featuring glimpses of the new full-size SUV.
The current fourth-generation Navigator arrived for the 2018 model year and was given a refresh for 2022.
The new Navigator debuts on Thursday and should hit showrooms late this year or early next as a 2025 model.
Lincoln hasn’t provided any details but the teaser video reveals details like an illuminated logo mounted in the grille, a simplified design for the steering wheel, and a center console with pushbutton gear selection and a crystal glass rotary dial.
Though touted as a redesign by Lincoln, the new Navigator is likely to be more of a major update of the current Navigator, meaning the platform and powertrain are likely to carry over mostly unchanged.
The 2024 Navigator’s sole powertrain is a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 that pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission and powers all four wheels as standard. A hybrid powertrain taken from the related F-150 is possible. The setup combines the twin-turbo V-6 with a single electric motor.
Lincoln had planned to launch an electric Navigator, with reports pointing to it arriving by the end of 2026. However, Ford in April said it was delaying many next-generation EVs and would instead look to launch more hybrids.
