2025 GMC Yukon debuts new look, AT4 Ultimate model

  • The GMC Yukon received a refresh for 2025
  • An AT4 Ultimate trim joins the Yukon lineup
  • The 2025 Yukon will go on sale later this year, pricing wasn’t announced

The GMC Yukon has been updated for the 2025 model year, gaining a revised look, new technology, and more power for the available diesel engine.

The current Yukon has been on sale since the 2021 model year and the latest updates largely mirror those made to the related Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban twins for 2025, like the addition of a much larger infotainment screen, as well as new electronic driver-assist features.

There are changes that are unique to the 2025 Yukon, too. The vehicle can be recognized by its new headlights, new fascia designs, and new grille patterns. The upmarket Yukon Denali Ultimate also gets 24-inch wheels for the first time.

A new AT4 Ultimate also joins the range. Building on the off-road-focused AT4, the Ultimate adds some luxury items to the AT4’s off-road equipment which includes a front skid plate, 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, and adjustable suspension with air springs that can raise the vehicle by up to two inches. The luxury items, which are also found on the Denali Ultimate, include 16-way power massaging front seats, leather trim, and wood grain accents.

The former SLE and SLT models are now gone, replaced by a new Elevation model that serves as the point of entry for the 2025 Yukon lineup.

Inside, the 2025 Yukon features a revised digital gauge cluster plus a 16.8-inch digital screen mounted in the center stack with a portrait orientation. The big screen serves as the main interface for the infotainment system and can be complemented by an 8.0-inch screen in the rear for adjusting the climate settings. New electronic driver-assist features include night vision, available Super Cruise, and General Motors’ latest trailering technology. Maximum towing is 8,400 pounds.

Powertrain options include a 5.3-liter V-8 rated at 355 hp, a 6.2-liter V-8 rated at 420 hp, and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-6 rated at 305 hp, up from the 277 hp in previous model years. All powertrains come with a 10-speed automatic. Four-wheel drive is included on upper trims, while it’s available on the lower grades.

The 2025 Yukon is expected in showrooms later this year. Pricing information will be announced closer to the market launch.
