Cadillac continues to add electric vehicles to its lineup, but that doesn’t mean the brand has any intention of giving up on performance vehicles like those found in its V-Series sub-brand.

Cadillac on Tuesday confirmed the first electric V-Series will be a Lyriq-V, which the brand plans to launch next year as a 2026 model.

Cadillac has released a pair of photos of the 2026 Lyriq-V and said more details will be released early next year.

The photos show what appears to be a regular Lyriq midsize crossover, but there are unique styling cues that set the high-performance variant apart from the standard pack. The grille and front fascia feature unique designs, with some mesh used to cover up the intakes.

Elements like the rocker panels and rear fascia now also match the body color, and the rear fascia also features some mesh-like detailing. A V-Series badge also sits prominently at the rear.

It isn’t clear what powertrain package the Lyriq-V will pack. The 2025 Lyriq, which comes standard with a 102-kwh battery, delivers up to 500 hp with its dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain. However, other EVs from General Motors using the same Ultium platform and battery technology set found in the Lyriq pack much more hp.

Cadillac’s most potent V-Series model at present is the CT5-V Blackwing, which spits out 668 hp thanks to a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8. It’s possible the Lyriq-V will have a similar or even higher output than that.
